Antiques Stall

Operation Veteran Antiques and Collectables Stall

When the idea of Operation Veteran was first considered, one of the major issues was how do we get this off the ground with no funding and very little capital?
Buying and selling antiques and collectables had been a long-standing hobby of mine and had helped me to pay for ICT and Teacher training many years ago and had been the only reason that I could afford to then go on and study for a BA (Hons) Degree in Adult Education.

So, it made sense that we would use this as the basis for the business, to raise awareness, encourage donations and seek participation from the general public and from serving personnel and veterans to get involved.

Initially, I used the stock which I had available and my trusty van and a friend donated the board outlining our aims and objectives and we set up at Tynemouth Market in North Tyneside every weekend.

Through many kind acts and donations from Market Traders and the General public, great support from the market and local organisations, fundraising events and Darcey’s Candles from Kilmarnock who held a fundraiser and donated nearly £700, we were able to launch our Breakfast clubs and hubs.

The Operation Veteran Antiques and collectables stall is now a regular mainstay at Tynemouth market every Saturday and Sunday and sells a variety of Victoriana, Jewellery, Bronzes, ceramics, Glass, Collectable toys; Dinky and Corgi, paintings, Kitchenalia and an eclectic mix of goodies! Something for everyone and something different every week.

We are always seeking stock and cash donations to help us to support our veterans and to provide events and activities for them. So please pop along or contact us to let us know if you can help?
